New Year's Eve

So, how are you spending your New Year's Eve? A quiet night at home or out on the town or better yet, stamping? Well, since I am still down and out with pneumonia I guess I'll be home
stampin'! I really need to shake this pneumonia off before going back to school on Monday otherwise I'll have to stay home a few days (wouldn't that be a shame)!

This card was made for a packet of cards for a Christmas gift. I think she turned out really cute!
The paper is blue bayou, night of navy and the patterned paper is from an old SU package. I used my cuttlebug folder and the ribbon is from Michaels. The saying is from a MFT set.

Since Ihave been homebound since Christmas I have been surfing everyone's blogs. I'll tell you! There are some really talented people out there. What you guys come up with always amazes me. I think I will be doing alot of casing, if you don't mind. I've even been ordering on line. Have you checked out the Hanna Stamps line lately? They are just too cute!
I did sneak out of the house last night with some friends and went to the movies. Have you seen P.S. I Love You yet? If you do go I recommend you bring a whole box of Kleenex with you.
You guessed it. It's a tear jerker, not to mention there are quite a few good looking Irishmen in it. Well, I had better get busy on all my new projects I have in mind. Have a great New Year's Eve and get those New Year Resolutions going!!

Wouldn't You Know It

Just when I am all gun hoe on making cards like crazy I go and get sick. I have been fighting off a cold and horrible cough for three weeks now. It has been so crazy around here that I didn't stop to relax (I know that is how everyone's life has been this month). I ended up at the hospital for a chest xray and I have pneumonia. I've never had it before and don't wish it on my worst enemy. The coughing is unbelievable! So I'm not sure how much creative juices I have left in me right now. As soon as I feel a little better I'll get back at it. I can still surf the blogs though.
Take care and thanks for checking in with me!
Back to the old standby, birthday cards. I made a packet of cards for a Christmas gift and this is one of them. After I finished I liked it so much that I made five more just like it. The paper is pixie pink, chocolate chip and the paisley is from an SU paper packet I bought from a garage sale. The ribbon is from M and since I ran out of it I'll be heading back there for some more( isn't that ashame I have to make a trip over to Michaels?). I colored it in with my Prisma pencils. Now that Christmas is over I'm sure we will all be back to making more birthday cards as well as Valentine cards. I'm anxious to see what everyone comes up with for Valentine cards.
There might be some casing going on. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great Christmas day and now on to New Years Eve!! HAPPY STAMPIN'

Love Those Christmas Gifts!!

Here are some awesome Christmas gifts I received from one of my former students. You see, I had this little boy in my class last year and his mom and I became good friends through (of course) stamping. We have gone to a few classes together and had a blast. So he came to school the other day with this gift for me. I was so excited! The first one is a gift card tin that she turned into a candy tin. It is soooo adorable! The second one is a mini photo album. The inside holds six photo sleeves . It's just wonderful. The picture doesn't do it justice. She used all SU products to make both these gifts. What a fun gift!
I was up pretty late last night making cards like crazy. I think I was in withdrawal. And today I am going to continue, what else is there to do during a terribly windy, cold day. Yesterday was 50 degrees and today is 14 degrees and 50mph winds. As you can probably tell by some of my posts, we here in Chicago, get every kind of weather no matter what time of year it is.
Have a great day!

I'm BACK!!

Well, I'm back. It feels like eons since I have posted anything or even surfed the blogging world.
It has been so busy (I know everyone can relate). We are finally out of school for two whole weeks. I have also been sick with a real bad cold and cough (which I never get coughs). If it doesn't get better by Christmas I will break down and go in to see what is causing it to last forever. I did get some really nice gifts from my kids at school. One mom made me some real cute paper craft projects and I will post them real soon. I am very lucky to work at a great school. The families have always been very generous. I'm off to surf and promise to post something in the next few days (I still have some cards to make for gifts). Thanks for stopping by!

Not A Christmas Card

I am just about done making Christmas cards so
I thought I better get caught up on birthday cards since I know I have quite a few birthdays in January (including my own). This stamp set is
from SU but I don't know the name of it. I
bought it at a garage sale this summer and
thought it was so cute. It has two other stamps
in it. The green paper is Wild Wasabi, the blue is from the Candy Cane package from CM and the red is Real Red. Well, we had another inch of snow on Friday and now it is sort of raining out to make everything an ice rink. We have my daughter's Christmas concert today and that is always very nice. The music they play is awesome (and there are treats afterwards). So, we are off to another busy day!

MERRY

We had a snowstorm last night and it continued snowing all day today. We have about 5 inches and now it is soooooo cold. However, it sure does feel like Christmas around here now! This card was made with most of my scraps. The green is wild wasabi and the blue paper is from the candy cane package from CM. The tree stamp is from Hero Arts. I colored it in with my Prisma pencils. So, does everyone have a ton of shopping left to do (I know, I know! It's only the 5th)?
I have a good grasp on things and only need a few more and then I swear I will not go to another mall for a long time. Shopping at a mall is definitely not my favorite thing to do unless there is a scrapping store nearby. Have a great rest of the week and thanks for checking in!

HOLIDAY CHEER!

Here is another fun $1 stamp from Michaels. The paper came from the Christmas megapack and the bow is also from Michaels. Boy, Michaels is really make a profit just from me alone!!
We are in for the first snowstorm of the season tomorrow throughout the weekend. You know what that means? MORE STAMPING! What else is there to do when you can't leave the house?! I have a few orders to fill so I'm sure I'll get them done. Anyway, have a great weekend and keep warm! Cheers!!

CHRISTMAS JOY

I was able to put up my tree so I had to take a picture with my card in it. Yesterday I went to Archivers and found this great stamp set. The set is from Hero Arts. The green swirly paper is from Reminisce paper called Candy Cane Swirl, the ribbon is from Paper Crafts which I found in the 99cent bin at Archivers and the sentiment came on the same set as the tree. It's hard to tell but I used a popdot on that. I think I might have to make several of these cards for my Christmas card list. Well, back to school tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to it because we have so many really fun activities planned during the next four weeks. My favorite is Polar Express day, where the kids and teachers wear pajamas to school, we have several activities planned and we give them hot cocoa and cookies and when they come back to the classroom there are bells on their desks. It's amazing to see them walk in the room and find the bells and think that Santa was in there while we were down the hall. It's a riot!! The next four weeks are going to fly by. Well, have a great week and thanks for visiting!

LET THE FEAST BEGIN!!

I know, you're wondering why I mention Thanksgiving in my header but I am posting a Christmas card. Well, I am so in the mood for Christmas and am itching to put up my tree and all the trimmings but I have been told nothing until Thanksgiving is over. Bah Humbug!!
Anyway, I can't wait until the bird is on the table. I wish everyone the HAPPIEST THANKSGIVING! Now, down to business. I am so glad we are off school for the next few days. Last night I went down to my little corner of the world and was playing around with my $1 stamps I bought this week at Michaels. They have such a great selection of Christmas stamps I had to buy just about one of each. This card turned out so cute! The paper is from a mega pack I bought last Christmas from Michaels. I hope you can tell I put glitter on Santa's beard and hat. The striped paper is also a little glittery. Well believe it or not it is snowing right now. Yesterday we had so horrible rain and wind that today I am glad it's turned into snow (not much though). So, I hope everyone has a great weekend (don't shop til' you drop) and enjoy the leftovers!! GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE!!!

THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!

Here is my first holiday card of the year. I've seen so many awesome cards on the blogs I thought I had better get on the ball and start mine. The fluffy ribbon I used is from an old
package from SU. That was all I had left so I think I will have to hunt some more down. The snowmen are also from SU. I think it is called
Flaky Friends. The sentiment stamp is from a stamp from M. The paper is night of navy, real red and the snowflake paper is from DCWV. I colored it in with my Prisma watercolors. Now I feel like I am in the holiday mood. I better get moving on the rest of the cards. Have a great weekend and thanks for looking.

Casing the SU Catalog

I was running out of ideas the other day so I started to browse the SU catalog and came across this card. So I had to case it. It didn't turn out too bad. I used night of navy , real red and brushed silver paper. The ribbon is from M and the button came from Buttons Galore. The saying is from an old SU set called Simple Sayings II. The sun was out for just a short time today but I was at school so I couldn't take pictures of my most recent cards. I should be home from school really early tomorrow so I am praying for more sun. Only one week left before turkey day! Yum Yum!! Have a great weekend!!

Happy Birthday

Even though we didn't go away to scrap this weekend, my scrapping group was together at Julie's house. I'll tell you, we laugh harder than the last time, every time we get together. It's a wonder any pages get done. Also, as more wine is consumed the conversation changes and we get even sillier. What a BLAST! As soon as we get more sunlight around here I will post some of my pages I did and some more cards. We have had a lot of gloomy weather but not rain and great temps. Can't complain. This card was made using several different stamp sets. The flower is from the In The Spotlight set and the sentiment is from Sincere Salutations (a really old set) and the brackets are from Stampendous. The paper is chocolate chip, certainly celery and orange. The ink was clertainly celery and pumpkin pie. The orange paper was pierced if you can tell. Have a great week and thanks for checking me out!

Got Turkey!

Got Turkey, Anyone?! I just love this saying. The turkey stamp is an old one from SU and I think he is just so cute, too. I don't make too many Thanksgiving cards but I just had to use this one. The paper is from DCWV and I colored the turkey in with my Prisma watercolor pencils. The ribbon was in my scraps. I don't know about any of you guys, but I can't wait for Thanksgiving and the stuffing. I can smell it already! This is a big weekend for stamping and scrapping. Our scrapping group was supposed to go away this weekend but things changed. We are still scrapping just not away. Julie was sweet enough to have us all at her house ALL weekend. Some are even staying over night. It should be a blast! Well, have a great weekend and GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE!!

You Rock!

Here is another card I made over the weekend. It's for another neice who is turning 16. The pink paper is regal rose and the brown is chocolate chip from SU. The patterned paper is from DCWV and the ribbon came from Target. The image is a Bella. Well, I have to run and head out to school. Have a great day!

STRESS FREE

Well, I feel like I am human again. Don't you just hate when you are on the run constantly and feel like you are on a whirlwind? That is what the last two weeks have been like around here. Parent conferences are over, football is over and so is band. I even missed a few birthdays. So now I feel like I am slowly back in the swing of things. Here is a card I made last night after spending the day moving all my scrap and stamping things from one end of the basement to the other end. I found things I forgot I even had. (Don't you love that)! The paper is chocolate and certainly celery from SU. The blue was scrap paper I had from DCWV. I used my new ticket punch for the corners and the stamp came from the In the Spotlight set from SU. The ink was certainly celery and chocolate. I did make a few cards so I finally have some more cards to post.
Have a great week!

More Fall Cards

Here is another Fall card we made at the SU party I had. All the products are from SU and we used the glossy white paper. First we stamped the leaves with VersaMark and then we used embossing powder and embossed it. We then dabbed the tri color ink on and here we ended up with a really pretty card. The picture really doesn't do it justice. I have been slowing down
on my cards lately because I have been sooooooo busy with life. Tonight will be the only night I'll be home this week. Thursday is parent conferences at my school and they last until 9:00 at night but the good thing is that we are off school on Friday. Yipee!! The weekend of Nov. 9th can't come soon enough. My wonderful scrapping group will be going up to Michigan to Michele's (Thoughts of a CardMaking Scrapbooker) father's summer home. We scrap, stamp and eat and drink until our hearts content. We have an awesome time. Most of us stay in pjs most of the time and if the
weather is nice we manage to take a walk along the lake. It really is a great time. Anyway, what is everyone going to be for Halloween? I spent a good part of this weekend painting black dots on 8 white long sleeve t-shirts. The teachers at school and myself are going to be dalmations. By the last dot I painted I was seeing spots when I went to bed. I'll try to get a good pictures and post it. Well, have a great Halloween week!!

It's Pumpkin Time

Last Friday night I hosted a SU party at my friend Lynda's house. This was my favorite card
we made. The pumpkin is popped up with popdots. All the supplies are from SU but I can't remember the names of the colors. This picture doesn't do the card justice. This Saturday several of us are going to an all day crop so I really need to get back to my scrapping. I will
try to squeeze in a card or two but now I have some scrapping to catch up on.
Have a great week end and thanks for looking.

How Sweet It Is!

This stamp set just came and I got busy right away. It is the How Sweet It Is from MFT. The pink paper is regal rose from SU and the brown paper is also from SU. The blue is tempting turquoise and the brown is chocolate chip. I used the flower cuttlebug folder. The saying is popped up with a popup and the ribbon came from M.
Now I feel like eating some chocolate (but of course I always do). Hope everyone has a great week and hopefully they weather will stay this way (70's and no rain).

Calling all Girlz!

Another card from my TAC stamp set. I just
love this set. The kids are so cute and you can
do so much with it. The red paper is from SU and the striped paper is from DCWV and the
ribbon is from the dollar bin at Target. I used
the heart cuttlebug folder. I use this stamp set quite a bit on my school papers also. Just let me know when you get tired of seeing cards from this set. Tomorrow I am hosting an SU party at my friend's house. It should be a ton of fun because all we ever do when we get together is laugh. I'll
try to get some pictures to post. Anyway, have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Homecoming

Casey and the girls were on their way to the Homecoming dance. Casey is the one with the green on her dress. She said many of the dresses this year looked like this. They look much older than 15, don't they?! Everyone had a great time!

Baseball Kidz

This card was made for my nephew, Callahan. He is a big Milwaukee Brewers fan so I had to use this stamp. This is from TAC set I just got. The striped paper is from Basic Grey and the green is gable green from SU. The ribbon is from Target's $ bin. He is colored in with my Prisma pencils. Like I said, this card was for my nephew. I even stamped the back of it from Aunt Sharon. Well, when I came home last night the card was gone. Danny ended up using it when he went to his friend's birthday party. I'm sure he will wonder why it is stamped like that on the back. OH WELL! On to make a replica.

Happy Birthday!

Yipee! The weekend is finally here! It's wierd, every time we have off school on a Monday the rest of the week seems to drag on. One would think it would go faster but it doesn't. We have a very busy weekend coming up. Between band competitions and homecoming dances and football games and working concession stands I'm not sure I'll get any stamping in. So here is a card I made last week for a friend of mine. Once again the paper is from DCWV packet and the image is from MFT. The flower is a Prima and the ribbon came from Target in their dollar bin. This card looks much better in person. So have a great weekend and happy stamping!!

It's Finally Fall!!

FALL is finally here! Yipee!! Fall is my favorite time of the year, just warm enough to wear a sweatshirt and cool enough to leave the a.c. off . The best part are the leaves. Because it has been so warm the leaves really haven't changed much but here it comes. I just love the fall colors. My son Danny is already talking about raking leaves for other people and making a few bucks.
Anyway, here is another card we made on WCMD. You can hardly tell but I used glitter on the leaves. Now, glitter is not my favorite thing to use (I don't even let the kids at school use it), it always seems to linger on forever and I manage to find it weeks later stuck to the strangest places. Ugh!! All the products used on this card are from SU (of course). Well, thanks for visiting and ENJOY the FALL!

World Card Making Day

Yesterday I went to a card class for world card making day. It was a blast. I met some really
sweet ladies and we made 12 awesome cards. Two of the cards we each made will be sent to a
family in Michigan who had twin girls. At 3 months old they were both diagnosed with cancer.
So we are sending them some cards and lots of prayers. All products are SU products for these cards. I'm not too sure of the names of the papers we used. I will be posting the rest of the cards throughout the week. Have a great rest of the weekend and to some of you, a great day off tomorrow (for Columbus Day).
I have been tagged a few times and I promise I will get to those.

Cute Little Kids

Well, here is my first TAC card. My order came
last week and I was so anxious to get moving on it. I made this card for my lunch mom at school for her birthday. I thought it was appropriate coming from my class. Anyway, I love how it turned out!! I also love the stamps from TAC because
they are so easy to use on the acrylic blocks. I'm
sure I'll have to get some more soon. The paper is
from DCWV and the peach paper is from SU but
I don't know what it is called. I used my cuttlebug
folder and the ribbon is from the dollar bin a M.
I colored the kids in with my Prisma watercolors.
The weekend is just about here so have a great one and GO CUBS!!!

Trick or Treat

After seeing everyones Halloween cards I thought I better get busy making mine. So here is 3 versions of basically the same card. The purple paper is Lavender Lace from SU and the polka dot paper is from Designs by Reminisce and the the swirly paper is from Doodlebug Design. The purple ribbon I found at Target in their dollar bins. I used my cuttlebug folder and square punches. The stamps, I think, are from SU ( stamped a bunch of them at the last party I was at). Now I'm off to create some great cards using my new TAC stamps. The stamps are so cute and easy to use. Thanks for visiting and Ta Ta for now!!

Happy bee day!

The bee trio stamp came from stampendous. I have seen so many really cute cards make with this stamp that I just had to get it. I'm not thrilled with the card but the bees are cute. So I had to post this one. We have been really busy all weekend with band competitions and football and I just have a few minutes so I thought I would post something. I did get a chance last night to make a few Halloween cards ( inbetween waiting to pick one kid from band and chasing down the other one) . They will be posted real soon. Have a great day!

Monkey Business

This little monkey is so cute. It is from Stampendous. The patterned paper is from DCWV
and the yellow is from Archivers. I colored him in with my new Prisma watercolor pencils. The ribbon is from Michaels. I was at Michaels today scoping out the place ( God knows I don't need another thing right now) and they just filled up their dollar bin with all new $1 acrylic stamps. So of course I had to buy a few. They had some new ones that I haven't seen yet. I think they are gradually releasing them just like all the other companies do. Anyway, have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

Enjoy Your Day!

I am having a blast using the paper from the mega pack I bought at Costco. It is from My Minds Eye. The Bella image is from my friend Kim at craftyme. I sent this card to a good friend of mine from college for her birthday. I just hope she gets it in time. Thanks for visiting and Enjoy Your Day!!

Time for Bubbles

This image is what I needed after this week of school. The heat came back and we really lost their attention . You know you have lost them when they are all laying the heads down on their desks and asking how many more hours until we go home. I even felt that way. I haven't even had much of a chance to stamp this week so I was going through stampers withdrawal, you know what I mean! Anyway, I'm off to a TAC party hosted by Kim at Craftyme. I'm looking forward to checking out their awesome stamps.
The little lady in the bathtub is from Whipper Snapper Designs, the striped paper is My Minds Eye and the blue is tempting turquoise from SU. The saying and bottle and glass is from MFT.
I'm hoping to have some more to post from this weekend , since it is so hard to get anything done during the week. Enjoy!

On my way to school but I just wanted to post this one real quick. Have a great day!

Happy Haunting

YIPPEE!! The weekend is here! This is a card I made last year for the teachers at school. I had quite a few orders for it. I thought I would share it with you. The ghosts are made from my Sizzix machine. Tomorrow is a scrapping and stamping night. The girls are coming over and we're going to scrap to our hearts desire ( and gossip and eat). I also just received the halloween cards from the swap I was in from Kim at Craftyme. They are awesome. I'll post them as soon as I get the camera going. I also received the stamps I ordered from PaperPretties with the gift certificate I won over at Stampin with Julie. So I have plenty to keep me busy this weekend.
Hopefully I'll have alot to post . Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Weight Management

How could anyone resist this stamp?! This is another Bugawumps stamp I bought over the weekend. I laughed so hard when I saw it and then they also sell the stamp with the saying. It
goes perfect together. I feel like this card all the time. I do a lot of groaning . Anyway, the pink polka dot paper came from a HUGE packet of
paper I bought at Costco. It was a double pack with 360 sheets from My Minds Eye. The blue paper came from Archivers and the brown is chocolate from SU. I used my Marvy scallop punches and added a few brads. Viola! There I have it, a card I can groan about! You should really check out the website for the Mugawumps, it's just http://www.bugawumps.com/
Enjoy! I'm off to meet the teacher night at my school. I get so nervous doing this year after year. Go figure!!

Bugawump

I was so excited yesterday. The scrapbook and rubber stamp expo was here. I saw so many awesome stamps that my head was spinning. I even did some make and takes. I went by myself but ran into many other stampers I know. The stamp on this card is from a company called Bugawump. They were so cute I had to get a few of them. Here is the first of three cards I made. The paper is (of course) SU and the ribbon is from M. I just love this ribbon so I bought it in several colors. I pierced the blue paper and used a Prima flower. Enjoy and thanks for visisting!

Ghostly Greetings

I really don't have much time but I wanted to post something today. The ghost stamp came from Penny Black and the paper is from SU. The ribbon is from Michaels. I colored the ghosts in with my SU markers, I tried to use the Prismas but it just didn't look vibrant enough.
Have a great (hot and muggy) day!

Wednesday, September 5, 2007

I don't have any cards to post but I did see this in todays paper and got a kick out of it. I hope everyone enjoys it!

Sunday, September 2, 2007

It was a BEAUTIFUL day!!

I can't believe I have energy to blog. Today was a gorgeous day, 85degrees and sunny and breezy. We took a road trip to Saugatuck, Michigan. It is a 2 hour ride from here but it was
worth it. Saugatuck is a quaint little town on an inlet of Lake Michigan. There are hundreds of cute little shops and eateries and ice cream parlors. We had lunch at a restaurant right on the water and we sat outside watching all the yachts go by. We did do some shopping but all I bought was a single dip cone, but that is good enough , isn't it?!!
I made this card last night. It is extremely bright so that is why I took the picture outside (with my sunglasses on). The stamp set is from MFT and the green paper is gable green from SU.
The rest is from my scrap drawer, which I am not real good about keeping track of what paper is what. The flower is a Prima (of couse, what other kind is there).
Well tomorrow , believe it or not we are going apple picking with several other families. We go every year on Labor Day weekend. The Gala apples are ready to be picked and there is no one else there. We have a blast! I think the best part is the apple donuts. They are awesome!
Anyway, have a great rest of the weekend and thanks for visiting!!

Family Pictures

Here are some family pictures we took at a graduation party. Everyone was being so silly so I thought it was the perfect time for pictures. Once again, Danny was trying not to smile. That is me with my daughter, Casey and my husband with Danny.

Scrappin the 4th!

I like to scrap pictures of our annual parade and fireworks and then every year I leave sitting out the pictures from the previous year for everyone to see. Some years the pictures are of the same people and sometimes there are new people in the crowd. This day is so much fun at our house. We don't even invite anyone because everyone and their brothers show up anyway.
Fourth of July pages are fun to do.

Thank Ewe

This card was made for a friend who asked me to make her a few thank you cards. Well this is what I came up with. This little guy is so cute! I used SU purely pomegranite and the flower paper is also from SU. The white paper was Cuttlebugged. The little flower stamp was from one of the dollar stamp sets from Michaels and I added a little Bling to the middle of the flower. I may have to make a batch of these to keep on hand. Well, school is out for the weekend. I know it is only Thursday but we always have this Friday off. It's great. 4 days off already, Yipee!! More time to stamp!!

Enjoy!!

New Blogger in Town

There is a new blogger in town. Stop by http://whimsicalthoughts-toni.blogspot.com/ and check out her new blog. She left me a real sweet message so I thought I would plug her site.
I haven't had a chance to stamp since the weekend because of school. Boy, what a week we
had! It has been back in the 90's and our school is overheated. I do have several orders already from fellow teachers. So that is how I will spend my weekend. (Isn't that ashame)!
TA TA for now!!

Lazy Boy 2

Here is another version of the last card I made. I just turned the card sideways and added a ribbon. I pierced the blue paper and colored it in with my prismas. This stamp is so fun I've made several cards today with it. Enjoy!

Lazy Boy

This scene looks so familiar around my house. I cased this card from Julie over at Stamped in His Image. The coloring isn't quite the same but the rest is. The cream paper is Barely Banana from SU and the strips are from my scrap drawer so I'm not sure about it. I colored it in with my prismas and used the CM oval cutter . The saying and the stamped image is from
My Favorite Things. I have a very hard time adhering the brick brack to the paper every time I use it. Any ideas? I used the mini dots but they always seem not to stick for very long.
Well, I'm off to Home Depot for some Gamsol and then lesson plans. Doesn't that sound like fun!
I always tell myself that if I can get my school work done early enough then I can head over to my stamping table . So off I go! (Puff, Puff)!! Have a great week!
